Level 2 Intermediate Skills Instructor
This course reinforces stability and biomechanics, teaching strategy, site selection, goal setting, proper demonstrations, keywords, progressions, and error detection for all the Level 2 Intermediate Skills.

The Level 2 course offers comprehensive hands-on training on the fundamentals of mountain biking. All participants will create a strong foundation for teaching mountain bike skills clinics including personal riding skills, proper form, systematic methods, and terminology.

Level 2 Prerequisites:

Provide a copy of current Certification from another recognized organization
Current First Aid and CPR certificate
Three or more years of mountain biking experience
At least 18 years of age
Good communication skills with a strong desire to help others have more fun and progress safely
Ability to perform basic trailside repairs (flat tires, broken chains, and shifting adjustments)
Fluent in the English language including reading and speaking
Wilderness First Aid certification is strongly recommended

The BICP Certification courses are skills teaching courses, not skills learning courses. Participants must be able to perform the skills listed below at or above the BICP Ride Standard prior to attending the in-person course. Successful demonstration of these skills during the course is a requirement for certification. Please contact the BICP for information on a skills prep course if you need help meeting these ride standards.

In order to pass the BICP Level 2 course, participants must demonstrate an understanding of the material, and perform suitable teaching simulations.
